Greenwood (27 April 1967)

(Intended for last week) The 80th birthday of Evalt Mattick was celebrated April 19 at the Clark County Home for the Aged, where he resides.

Recent dinner guests at the Ted Abel home were Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Abel and family of Loyal, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Abel and family of Kaukauna, and Gilbert Meyer.

Mrs. George Poppe was honored recently with a party at her home in celebration of her birthday. Cards furnished entertainment and a lunch was served.

The Adult Fellowship met Sunday evening in Zion United Church. Daniel Olson presided. The program included the showing of a film entitled, “The Lady and the Stock Market.” Refreshments were served by the Rev. and Mrs. David Logue and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hendrickson. The next meeting will be held Sunday evening, May 14, a week earlier than usual. Hosts will be Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Wessel and Mr. and Mrs. Ewald Schwarze.

Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Kuester and son, Kevin, and Miss Susan Wallick spent the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Wallick, and other relatives.

Mrs. Maud Flatz and Mrs. Elisabeth Keiner spent the weekend in Riplinger at the home of Mrs. Lucille Lyons.

Miss Corinne Caliebe of Marshfield and Mrs. George Caliebe returned Wednesday after spending five days at Fordville, N. D., where they attended the funeral of the latter’s aunt.

Mr. and Mrs. Lee Cook and son, Gregory, of Milwaukee spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Liebzeit.
