Simons, Lena M. (13 April 1880 - 23 April 1967)

Mrs. Lena M. Simons, 87, of Rt. 3 Neillsville, died here Sunday. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the United Church of Christ, with the Rev. Gale Wolf officiating. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Mrs. Simons was born April 13, 1880, in Antrim County, Mich. She received her education there and lived in Michigan before coming to Wisconsin to make her home with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Paulson, about 12 years ago.

In 1903, she was married in Traverse City, Mich., to Samuel Crampton, who died in 1922. In 1937, she was married in Atlanta, Mich., to James Simons, who died in 1947.

Mrs. Simons was a member of the United Church and the Pine Valley Homemakers club.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Claude (Isabelle) Paulson of Neillsville; two sons, Carl Crampton of Flint, Mich., and Charles Crampton of Detroit, Mich.; two brothers, Jay Brydon of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Roy Brydon of Flint, Mich.; and by five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were made by the Georgas Funeral Home.

People from away who attended funeral services last week Wednesday afternoon for Mrs. Lena Simons, 87, included Mr. and Mrs. Charles Crampton of Detroit, Mich.; Dennis Paulson of Clarksville, MD., Carl Crampton of Flint, Mich.; Jay Brydon of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Paulson of City Point.

The Rev. Jack Grether officiated at services, and burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Paul Bieneck, Joe Kurasz, Bernard Dodte, Emil Wessenberg, Roger Ingold and Hiram Haugen.

"Precious Lord Hold My Hand" and "Near to the heart of God" were sung by Mrs. W. C. Koehler, accompanied by Mrs. Jess W. Scott.
