Horvat, John (10 May 1909 - 15 April 1967)
John Horvat, 57, died Saturday at his home in Willard after being hospitalized in Marshfield after a fall from his home porch. He had returned from the hospital Friday. Authorities say his death was due to a cerebral hemorrhage prior to the fall.
Mr. Horvat was born May 10, 1909, in Aspen, Colo. He was married December 30, 1936, to Mary Dobish, in Chicago, Ill. He farmed in the Willard area until his retirement in 1957. He worked as a carpenter in the area since that time.
He was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church, and the American Slovenian Catholic Society.
The funeral was held Tuesday from the Hill Funeral Home in Greenwood, and the Holy Family Catholic Church at Willard. Burial was made in the Holy Family Catholic Cemetery. The Rev. William Nikolai officiated.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Paul (Mary Jane) Kristapovich of Fort Atkinson, and three sons, John, William and Charles all of Milwaukee. Other survivors are his mother, Mrs. Johanna Horvat of Greenwood; a brother, Rudy of Willard; three sisters, Mrs. Val (Helen) Krainz and Mrs. Joe (Jennie) Tolaney of Willard and Mrs. Mary Klune of Greenwood; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, and two brothers.
