Christie, Kittie (1 January 1872 -19 April 1967)

Mrs. Kittie Christie, 95, Greenwood, died at 1 a.m. Wednesday in Neillsville. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. from Grace Methodist Church in Greenwood. Burial will take place in the Greenwood Cemetery. Rev. Carl Booher will officiate.

Mrs. Kittie Christie was born in West Salem, January 1, 1872, to James and Hannah (Cummins) Syth. She was married to Joseph Christie on October 23, 1901, in Greenwood. They farmed south of Greenwood for 10 years, where she resided until the spring of this year. She came to the Greenwood area with her parents as a young girl. She had been hospitalized since January 19.

She was a member of Grace Methodist Church and Women’s Society of Christian Service.

She is survived by a half-sister, Mrs. Anton (Myrtle) Anderson of Clairmont, Calif.; two half-brothers, James Syth of Jim Falls, and Arthur Syth of Greenwood; and a stepson, Floyd Christie of Loyal.
