Pederson, Oliver (4 APR 1857 - 5 DEC 1914)

The friends of Oliver Pederson will be grieved to learn of his accidental death which occurred Saturday night at Minneapolis. For some time Mr. Pederson has been employed by the electric light company at Prescott and Saturday he went to Minneapolis to visit a cousin, Mrs. Lind. There he met a cousin whom he had not seen for many years and retired about 10 o’clock that evening. In the morning he was found dead in bed and upon investigation it was learned that a slow leak in the gas jet in his room had gradually filled the room with the deadly vapor and that some time during the night he had succumbed. The remains were brought here Monday for interment.

Mr. Pederson was born in Grue Trestjied Solar, Norway, on April 4, 1857. He was united in marriage to Jessie Jorgenson on May 14, 1887, and is survived by his wife and daughter, Mabel. Mr. Pederson was a mason by trade and had been a resident of Neillsville for many years. He was a capable and conscientious workman and a gentleman of many sterling qualities. He was quiet and unassuming in demeanor and yet held the acquaintance and friendship of a large circle of friends. Deceased was a member of the Modern Woodmen.

The funeral services will be conducted this afternoon at 2:30 o’clock from the Presbyterian church by Rev. Pinney.
