Johnson, Martin E. (28 JAN 1889 - 2 FEB 1962)

Funeral services were held from Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Stanley, Monday afternoon, Jan. 22, for Martin Edward Johnson, 72, who died Thursday at Victory Memorial Hospital.

The Rev. F.M. Salveson officiated at the last rites. Pallbearers were Clarence Dumke, Walter Aumann, Chester Johnson, Ed Karlen, Harry Boie and James Fults. Mrs. F.M. Salveson was the organist and Anton Long the soloist. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.

Mr. Johnson, a resident of route 3, Stanley, was born Jan. 28, 1889 at Stillwater, Minn., the son of John and Caroline Johnson. He spent most of his younger days in the Stillwater area, and was married there on June 7, 1914 to Alma Haugen. After their marriage they moved to a farm south of Stanley, where they have since lived.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, are two brothers, Anthony and Geo. of Stillwater, Minn.; and two sisters, Mrs. A.H. Guetchoff (Edna) of Minneapolis, and Hilda Hopkins of Kalispell, Mont.
