Langfeldt, Maria E. (10 JAN 1887 - 17 Jul 1926)


Mrs. Maria E. Langfeldt, nie Gelhaar, wife of John Henry Langfeldt died at her home in the Town of Beaver on July 17, at the age of 39 years, after an illness of four months duration. Death was caused by cancer of the Lymphatic glands.


The deceased was born on Jan. 10, 1887 at Davenport, Iowa. She was married to John Henry Langfeldt, Nov. 29, 1905, also of Davenport, Iowa.


She is survived by her husband and six children; Mrs. Carl H. Johnson, Max, Edwin, Elsie, Clarence, Erwin, and one grandchild. Her father, Adolph L. Gelhaar, one brother Edward Gelhaar, one sister, Mrs. Emil Arp, and one half-brother, Erich Frahm also survives.


Funeral services were held at the Green Grove Town Lutheran Church on July 20. Interment took place in the Greenwood cemetery.


Pall bearers were: George Klien, Walther H. Schuette, John Stowe, Harry Olhrogge, Hugo Schuette, Ed Knectle. The flower girls were: Elda Karnopp, Esther Wolht, Bertha Hardrath, Bertha Klien, Linnea Johnson, Sylvia Schuette.
