Morrow, Ethel M. (Lundahl) (14 OCT 1912 - 12 MAY 2012)

 

Ethel M. Morrow, age 99, of Abbotsford, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Country Terrace (formerly Inn Care) in Abbotsford.

 

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Bernard’s Catholic Church in Abbotsford with Father Daniel Hackel officiating. Burial will be in the Abbotsford Public Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church on Wednesday.


Ethel Marie Lundahl was born October 14, 1912 in the Town of Mayville, Wisconsin to George and Grace (Phanauf) Lundahl.

 

She attended Pleasant Hill Grade School in the Town of Mayville and graduated with honors from the Abbotsford High School in 1927. Ethel attended Wausau Teachers Normal School in 1928. She taught at Pleasant Hill School living with her aunts until 1935.

 

Ethel married Carl Morrow on June 26, 1935 in Medford, WI. She started teaching again in 1950 at Riverside School in the Town of Hull, attending summer school to finish her teaching degree. Ethel also taught at the Milan grade school, before she started teaching in 1966 at the Abbotsford Elementary School, finishing her teaching career there.


She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, crossword puzzles and teaching.


Ethel was a lifetime member of Saint Bernard’s Catholic Church in Abbotsford.


Ethel is survived by her son; Robert (Mary Ann) Morrow of Abbotsford, her grandchildren: Debra (fiance’ Ron Staples) Morrow of Stevens Point and Mark (Jan) Morrow of Stanley, one great-granddaughter; Vivian Juoy Morrow and many nieces and nephews.


Ethel is preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Carl, one son and two daughters in infancy, her brothers; Bob and Gene Lundahl and sisters; Bernice, Grace, Georgianna, Helen and Lorraine.


In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Abbotsford Education Foundation or the charity of your choice.


The Maurina Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford is assisting the family with arrangements.
