Hardy, Sarah (13 SEP 1884 - 8 JAN 1961)

 

Sarah Nelson, daughter of Wilbur and Harriet Nelson, was born Sept. 13, 1884 at Port Hope, Ontario, Canada.  She passed away Jan. 8, 1961 at the Havenet Rest Home in Owen after a lingering illness.  She moved to Iowa with her parents when she was a small child where she lived until she married Chas. Hardy in Nov. 1903.  They moved to the Town of Reseburg, Clark County, Wis., where they lived the rest of their lives.  Mr. Hardy passed away in April 1960.

 

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Jan. 10 at 2:00 p.m. in the Thorp Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Claybaugh, pastor of the Reseburg Congregational Church, of which she was a member, officiating.

 

Linda Tieman sang "Heaven is My Home" and "Abide with me," accompanied by Mrs. Wm. Boardman.

 

She is survived by fives sons and one daughter, Chester of Beloit, Philip of Pine Grove, Pa., Roger of Chester, Pa., Earl of Milwaukee, Lawrence at home, and Mrs. Herbert Wheeler of Big Foote, 12 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren, two sisters and three brothers, Mrs. George Mason, Cherokee, Iowa, Myrtle Nelson of Mishawaka, Ind., Albert Nelson of Mount Hoke, Wis., Harold of Boscobel and Dr. Oliver Nelson of Woodstock, Ill.

 

Pallbearers were Don and Philip Wheeler, Earl haskins, Ray De Moss, Kenneth Bobb and Russell Hill.  Interment was made in the Sylvan Cemetery, Reseburg.

 

Relatives and friends here to attend the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Wheeler and sons, Big Foote, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Hardy of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Haskins, Elkhorn, Mrs. Wm. Owen of Waukesha, Chester Hardy of Beloit, Mr. Perlie Hill and son, Greene of Spencer, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Welzien and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Doege of Greenwood.
