Vieau, JoAnn (Marriage - 23 January 1966)

Nuptial vows were exchanged Saturday afternoon in a double ring ceremony in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville uniting in marriage Miss JoAnn Vieau of Merrillan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Vieau of Hatfield, and Kenneth J. Chase, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Chase, formerly of Neillsville.  The Rev. Bernard T. Kelly officiated. Bouquets of white carnations and white snapdragons decorated the church.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, chose a street-length gown featuring a removable floor length over-skirt. The gown of Angel mist taffeta was fashioned with elbow-length sleeves and a demure scoop neckline, highlighted by an overlay of seed pearls.  Her shoulder veil of sheer illusion fell from a crown of pearl arches. She carried a bouquet of white chrysanthemums and red rosebuds.

Miss Mary Vieau, who attended her sister as maid of honor, wore a street length dress with removable overskirt in aqua.  The gown of peau taffeta featured elbow length sleeves and a bateau neckline; her bustle veil was secured to a petal cluster accented by a center crown of pearls and sequins.

Edgar Crockett of Great Lakes, Ill., was the best man and DeWayne Mashin was the usher.

A wedding reception and dinner followed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Vieau.

Mr. and Mrs. Chase have taken up residence at 406 ½ Mappa, Eau Claire, following their return Tuesday from a wedding trip into northern Wisconsin.

The bride has completed one and a half years of college work at Wisconsin State University-Eau Claire.  Mr. Chase has completed two and one-half years of college work, having attended Pacific Lutheran and Wisconsin State University-Eau Claire. Both plan to continue their education in Eau Claire.
