Boe, Rose (1892 - 1981)


Funeral services for Rose L. Boe, 89, of 314 First St., Loyal, Clark County, were at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 19, at the United Methodist Church in Loyal.

Mrs. Boe died at 1:30 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 16, 1981, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, where she had been admitted Nov. 14.
Officiating at the service was Rev. Charles Sanford. Burial was in the Loyal Cemetery.

Rose Newman was born to Charles and Clarissa (nee Roehr) Newman in Loyal on March 2, 1892. She received her education at rural Loyal schools.

She was married in 1915 at Loyal to Helmuth Brussow. He died in 1918. She later married Henry Boe in Oct. 1946, in Montana. He died in June 1974.

She lived all her life in the Loyal area and was a member of the United Methodist Church and its Bible Class. She was also a member of the Loyal American Legion Auxiliary.

Surviving her are one son, Harvey (steve) Brussow of Loyal two nephews, that she raised as sons after the death of their parents, Joseph "Buster" Newman of Marshfield and Lloyd Newman of Milwaukee two step-daughters, Mrs. Chuck (Beverly) Arnold of Ramson, N.J. and Mrs. Lenner (Lillian) Abrahamson of Tigerton one brother, Godfrey Newman of Belleville, Ill. 14 grandchildren 27 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents, five brothers and one sister.

Coni Meyer was the soloist and Ruth Zepplin the organist. Serving as pallbearers were Byron Zepplin, Neil Johnston, Everett Gehrt, Clyde Gransch, Celen Gotter and Chris Oestreich. Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal, handled arrangements.
