Zocher, Emilie O. (1908 - 1981)


Emilie O. Zocher, 73, of Route 2, Greenwood, Town of Warner, Clark County, died Sunday, Sept. 27, 1981, at 3:05 p.m. at her home. Death was due to a lingering illness.


Rev. Alwyn York will officiate at funeral services at Immanuel United Church of Christ at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 30. Burial will be in the West Side Cemetery.


The body will lie in state after 3 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday morning at the church until the time of the service.


Emilie Pszolla was born in Bochum, Germany on April 12, 1908. She was educated in Germany.


She came to the U.S. in 1928, and married Kurt Zocher on Aug. 31, 1929.


After their marriage they lived in Chicago until 1943, then moved to West Chester, Ill. In 1974, they moved to the Town of Warner.
She was a member of Immanuel Church of Christ and its ladies aid.


Her husband survives, along with two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Margot) Long of Minneapolis-St. Paul; and Mrs. Richard (Diane) Wirth of Juneau, Alaska; one son, Ronald of stony Creek, Conn.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.


She was predeceased by one brother, three sisters and her parents. Rinka Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
