Benedict, Nyle E. (1909 - 1981)


Nyle E. Benedict, 71, of Route 2, Loyal, Town of York, Clark County, died at 3:20 p.m., Thursday, July 30, 1981, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.


Graveside services were conducted at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Aug. 3, at York Center Cemetery, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m., at York Center United Methodist Church.


Rev. D. E. Sprague officiated and interment was in York Center Cemetery.


Nyle Benedict was born on Nov. 11, 1909, in the Town of York to William and Susanna (nee Davis) Benedict, and received his education in the Town of York.


He farmed with his parents in the Town of York, and was married on Oct. 15, 1932, at Norfolk, Neb. To Aura Bradbury.


They farmed in the Town of York until 1945. He then worked as a cheesemaker for the York Center Cheese Factory for 29 years until his retirement in 1974. He later worked for Huegel Dairy Supply and Oldham/Weyer Refrigeration of Loyal, where he was still employed.


He was a member of York Center United Methodist Church and United Commercial Travelers.


Surviving him in death were his parents and two sisters.


Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, handled arrangements.
