Sternitzky, Edna D. (1898 - 1980)

Funeral services for Mrs. Edna D. Sternitzky, 82, of 601 East Maple St., Spencer, were conducted at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Granton, on Friday, Dec. 26, at 2 p.m.

Mrs. Sternitzky died on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 1980, at St. Joseph's Hospital.

Officiating was Rev. Horst Augustin. Burial was in the Maple Works Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were Paul, Russell and Robert Guillaume and James, Jeffry, Jerry, Terry and Larry Sternitzky. Rux Funeral Home, Spencer, was in charge of arrangements.

Edna Burdick was born on Feb. 20, 1898, in Wood County to the late Alfred and Flora (nee Kiser) Burdick. She received her education at Maple Grove School.

Before her marriage she lived in Ontario and Endeavor, Wis.

She married Alvin Sternitzky on Dec. 21, 1915 in Lynn, Clark county, Wis. They farmed east of Lynn until 1948, when they moved to a farm at Route 2, Spencer and farmed there until 1958, when their son took over the farm.

Her husband preceded her in death on Sept. 15, 1960.

She moved to Spencer in 1977.

She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid for many years.

She is survived by two sons, Delmar of Spencer and Wallace of Green Bay one daughter, Mrs. Lawrence (Dorothy) Kasberger of Route 3, Marshfield 17 grandchildren 19 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Louis (Martha) Sternitzky of Neillsville and Mrs. Joe (Ann) Pernsteiner, Sr. of Greenwood.

Preceding her in death were three sons, two brothers and two sisters.
