Hebert, Chester (1897 - 1980)


Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 4, 1980 at the Loyal United Methodist Church for Chester Hebert, 82, of 215 South Union, Loyal, Clark County.


Mr. Hebert died Tuesday morning, Jan. 1, 1980, at his home.


Officiating at the service was Rev. John Wreford of Marshfield, Mrs. Connie Meyer was the soloist and Mrs. Ruth Zepplin the organist. Interment was in the Loyal Cemetery. Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal, was in charge of arrangements.


Chester Hebert was born on April 26, 1897 to Isaac and Minnie (Brown) Hebert in the Town of Unity and received his education at the Irvine School in the Town of Beaver.


He was married on Sept. 20, 1922, in Loyal to Signe Johnson. They farmed in the Town of Beaver for 39 years. After retiring, they moved to the City of Loyal, where he worked part time for Midland.


Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. John (Gloria) Lea Vesseur of Chippewa Falls one son, Leland of Loyal one sister, Mrs. Tessie Joss of Lebo, Kansas eight grandchildren 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.


Serving as pallbearers were Wesley Johnson, Lester Bloom, Roy Martens, Walt Seeger, Bernard Anderson and Al Bushman.


He was predeceased by his wife on Sept. 22, 1977 one son as an infant and four brothers.
