GENEVIEVE HUGHES


Genevieve Hughes, 77, of Greenwood, passed away at 5:45 p.m., Thursday, July 20, 1978 at Memorial Hospital, Neillsville.


Funeral services for Mrs. Hughes were conducted at Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood, at 11 a.m., Monday, July 24. Rev. Robert Houston officiated and burial was in the Neillsville Cemetery. Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood, was in charge of the arrangements.


Genevieve Carskaden was born on Dec. 20, 1899 at Iron River, Wis.


She was married on Nov. 11, 1930 at St. Mary's, Neillsville, to James Hughes. They farmed in the Town of Weston until 1966 and continued living there until 1971, when she moved to the City of Greenwood.


She was a member of Royal Neighbors of America.


A son, James, Greenwood, survives her.


Serving as pallbearers were Bud Brown, Bob Carl, Ed Gregorich, Fred Hohl, Don Clark and Bob Chadwick.


She was preceded in death by her husband, James, in Dec. 1966 one daughter one sister and one brother.
