Volk, Rudolph (1912 - 1990)


Rudolph (Rudy) Volk, 77, Town of Hendren, died Sunday, April 29, 1990, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield at 5:38 p.m. Visitation will be at Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood, Wednesday, May 2, 1990, from 3 to 6 p.m. Visitations will continue Wednesday evening at the church, beginning at 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 3, 1990, at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard. Rev. James Lesczynski will officiate. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jerry Stremikis, Larry Stremikis, John Stremikis, Fred Gosse, Alvin Kaltinger and Walter Hribar.


Rudolph was born June 29, 1912, in Willard to Frank and Mary (Zenick) Volk. He received his education through the eighth grade at the Gorman School. He married Bethel Leach on Jan. 4, 1936, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greenwood. He farmed all of his life in the Town of Hendren and was engaged in logging. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard.


Survivors include his wife one daughter, Mrs. Ray (Shirley) Pipkorn, China Spring, Tex. two sons, Ronald, Pittsville Charles, Lac du Flanbeau five brothers, Joseph, Minneapolis John, Minneapolis Albert, Madison Gabriel, Brookfield, Ill. Edward, Willard four sisters, Mrs. Harold (Mary) Hunter, Joliet, Ill. Mrs. James (Frances) Matousek, Willard Mrs. Charles (Emma) Machan, Clear Water, Fla. Mrs. Jerome (Ann) Stremikis, Willard seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.


Preceding him in death were his parents, one daughter in infancy, one brother and one sister.
Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood handled the arrangements.
