Cole, Bird C. H. (1889 - 1951)


GREENWOOD, CLARK COUNTY Funeral services for Bird C. H. Cole, 61, Butler, who died of a cerebral hemorrhage Wednesday morning, April 18, 1951, at the Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the family home, where the body is reposing.


The Rev. Theodore Nelson, pastor of United Lutheran Church, Greenwood, will officiate and burial will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery.


Mr. Cole was born Sept. 17, 1889, in West Lima, the son of the late Dr. and Mrs. B.A. Cole. He attended school there and graduated from the high school in Viola in 1906. In 1913 he went to Butler to join his family who had moved there in 1911. He had lived on that farm since that time, and was a cheesemaker and farmer.


He is survived by his mother, Butler four sisters, Mrs. Henry (Sarah) Dittner, Thorp Mrs. George (Mary) Steinhaus, Cornell Mrs. Leonard (Lois) Johnson, Greenwood and Mrs. Bethel Beckman, Eau Claire 12 nieces and nephews 12 great-nieces and nephews, two aunts, and two cousins.
