NICK BABICH


Funeral services were held for Nick Babich, 62, 114 S. Union, Loyal, Clark County, on Wednesday, May 24, 1978 at 1 p.m. at the Rinka Funeral Home. Mr. Babich died at 12:25 a.m., Monday, may 22, 1978 at the Veterans Hospital at Madison, Wis. Rev. Chester Osowski, pastor of St. Anthony's Church, Loyal, officiated, and burial was made in the Holy Family Catholic Cemetery, Willard. Rinka Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.


Mr. Babich was born Oct. 20, 1916 in Milwaukee. He received his education at West Allis Schools. He married the former Ann Parkel in Milwaukee on Feb. 8, 1941. She survives.


He lived in Milwaukee and worked for the Transport Co. until 1950. He then purchased a tavern in Chili, known as Nick's Bar and operated that until 1963. They then moved to Loyal and had lived there since, and was engaged in carpentry. He was in the Navy from May 8, 1945 to march 15, 1946 in World War II. He was a member of the Loyal American Legion and Pathfinder Lodge of Milwaukee.


Full military rites were conducted by the Loyal American Legion.


Surviving besides his wife, Ann, are two daughters, Mrs. Donna Dahlke, Loyal and Miss Barbara Babich, Merrill one grandson and one sister, Mrs. John (Helen) O'Boza, Detroit, Mich.
