Lyon, Archie Dale (1902 - 1961)


GREENWOOD, CLARK COUNTY
--Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday for Archie Dale Lyon, 58, of Riplinger, a former Greenwood resident, who died Sunday, July 6, 1961 in Milwaukee County Hospital, shortly after suffering a heart attack. The Rev. Orval Egbert will officiate and burial will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery.


Mr. and Mrs. Lyon had been visiting in Racine and were enroute to the home when he was stricken.


Friends may call at the funeral home this afternoon and this evening.


Mr. Lyon was born at Northfield, Wis., Dec. 12, 1902, and was married in June of 1922 to Lucille Shymanski, who survives him. In 1921 he moved from Alma Center to Greenwood, where he operated a restaurant. Fourteen years ago he became a resident of Riplinger, where he operated a general store until June of this year, when he retired because of ill health.


Other survivors are three sons, Harold, Sparta William and Gerald, both of Riplinger, and seven grandchildren.
