Allard, Blanche (1874 - 1957)


GREENWOOD--Services were held Wednesday afternoon at Grace Methodist Church here for Mrs. A. J. (Blanche) Allard, 83, a former local resident (Greenwood, Clark County), who died of a lingering illness Oct. 20, 1957 at a nursing home in Baldwin.


The former Blanche Manchester was born April 28, 1874, in New Woodstock, N.Y., where she was married to Aldon Allard Oct. 20, 1894. In 1900 they moved to Rib Lake, where they operated a jewelry store for 24 years. From there they came to Greenwood to operate a grocery store. He died in Nov. 1940. Mrs. Allard continued to reside here until 1946, and then lived in Curtiss for six years before moving to Glenwood City.
