Chapman, Leo (1894 - 1966)


GREENWOOD--The Rev. Leo Chapman, 72, Greenwood, Clark County, died of a heart attack at 7 p.m. Tuesday at his home.


Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Free Methodist Church at Loyal with the Rev. Paul Miller officiating. Burial will be made in the Loyal Cemetery.


The body will repose at the Myre Funeral Home in Loyal from noon Thursday until time of services.


The Rev. Mr. Chapman was born Jan. 3, 1894, at Webster, S.D. and served in World War I from May 1, 1917, until August of 1919. His marriage to Blanch Seufer took place Aug. 25, 1919, at St. Paul, Minn.


He was a barber for 24 years, and in 1930 he enrolled at the Bible Institute at St. Paul, Minn. He was ordained in 1935 at the Christian Missionary Alliance Church.
