MARY M. BURMEISTER


Mary Burmeister, 76, Milwaukee, died Monday, Dec. 18, 1989, in a Milwaukee hospital. Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 21, 1989, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Burial was in Highland Memorial Park, New Berlin.


Mary (Plautz) Burmeister was born July 10, 1913 to Stephen and Mary (Popovich) Plautz in Willard, Clark County. She received her education in Willard Schools. On May 15, 1937, she married John Zallar. He died in 1952. She later married Leslie W. Burmeister. She worked as assembler/machine operator at Griffith Hope Co., West Allis. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Milwaukee, and the Prayer Group.


Surviving are her husband, one son, Jim Zallar, Willard; one daughter, Mrs. Dan (Judy) Weis, Burlington; three brothers, Joe Plautz, Willard; George Plautz, Greenwood; Emil Plautz, Owen; four sisters, Angeline Levesque, Orlando, Fla.; Sophie Matkovich, West Allis; Helen Albright, Wausau; Mrs. Frank (Rose) Pakiz, Greenwood; and five grandchildren.


Preceding her in death were her parents and first husband.
