GEORGE COLLINSON


Funeral services for George Collinson, 83, a former Loyal, Clark County resident from Woodstock, Ill., were conducted at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 19 at the United Methodist Church, Loyal.


Mr. Collinson passed away at Woodstock Hospital at about 4:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 17, 1977.


Officiating at the services was Rev. William Nobel of Neillsville Methodist Church. Interment was in the Loyal Cemetery.
Mrs. Connie Meyer was the soloist and Mrs. Gary Schultz the organist.


George Collinson was born at Thompson, Ill., on Aug. 30, 1894 and received his education at Thompson schools.


He was married to Edith Gruber on Aug. 30, 1913 at Thompson, Ill.


They lived in Jacksonville, Ill. right after their marriage. They lived in Belvidere, Savanna, Ill., from 1942 until 1948, where they farmed. They farmed in the Town of Sherman from 1948 until 1967, when they moved to Woodstock and lived in retirement.


Surviving him are four sons, George of Belvidere, Ill., Leroy of Spencer, Lloyd of Loyal and Harold of Greenwood three daughters, Mrs. Marle (Florence) Stage, Woodstock, Ill., Mrs. Edward (Reva) Streich, Spencer and Mrs. Earl (Vada) Falconer of Loyal two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Lucille) Plumley of Fulton, Ill. and Mrs. Bessie Schreiner of Clinton, Iowa 21 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his wife Edith on July 22, 1975 and one brother.


Serving as pallbearers were Larry Falconer, Donald Stage, Robert Collinson, Dean Collinson and Tom and Keith Collinson.
