SLONIKER FUNERAL IS HELD THURSDAY
RESIDENT OF GREENWOOD FOR 45 YEARS DIES AT NEILLSVILLE


Greenwood--Joseph Sherman Sloniker, 73, died Monday afternoon, Feb. 9, 1942 at 4 o'clock at the Neillsville Hospital, where he was taken Saturday evening after suffering a heart attack. He had suffered a stroke Sunday evening, and had been in poor health for the past six years, after a stroke at that time.


Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the home and at 2 o'clock at the Grace Methodist Church here with the Rev. Alex J. Abbott officiating. Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.


Mr. Sloniker was born June 11, 1868. About 45 years ago he came to Greenwood, Clark County, settling on a farm 3 miles northeast of the city where he had lived since.


Surviving are two sons, Earl and Ross, Greenwood three daughters, Mrs. Elmer (Floy) Horn, Chili Mrs. Arno (Fern) Beyer, Alma Center and Mrs. Oscar (Zula) Miller, Greenwood and 12 grandchildren.


His wife preceded him in death in 1921 and a son, Ren, died in 1915.
