DR. W.R. MCCUTCHEON DIES AT THORP


Dr. W.R. McCutcheon
, 80, a prominent citizen of the village of Thorp and well known resident of Clark County, passed away at his home early Saturday morning, March 19th, 1938, of acute bronchitis, followed by heart complications.


He was one of the early resident physicians of this county and lived in Thorp for the past 54 years.


Wm. Robert McCutcheon was born in Newtownbarry, County Carlo, Ireland, on Nov. 9, 1857. In 1877 he came to Canada and 3 years later to the United States where he began to study medicine, finishing his course at Rush Medical College, Chicago in the spring of 1884. He located in Thorp the same year and followed his profession continuously until his retirement about 15 years ago.


A Masonic funeral was conducted by Thorp Lodge No. 264. Services were held at the Gogumill Funeral Home at 2:00 o'clock Monday afternoon, A. L. Devos, Neillsville, acting as Grand Master and L. W. Cattanach, Owen, Chaplain. About 100 Masons attended. Interment took place in the East Thorp Cemetery.
