POOLE BENEDICT

MRS. GEORGE POOLE DIES SUDDENLY

The entire community was grieved Sunday morning to hear of the sudden death of one of our best known and respected citizens, Mrs. Geo. Poole.

Deceased had not been feeling well for a few days, but was about as usual. On Sunday morning she was taken suddenly ill and within less than an hour she passed away.

Myrtle Eudora Benedict was born in Belmont, La Fayette County, Wis. on April 24, 1862. In 1877 she moved with her parents to Darlington, Wis., and on Nov. 16, 1882 she was united in marriage to George A. Poole. Two children were born to them, Mrs. Mabel Nelson, Darlington, Wis., and Leroy J. Poole, Kelley Lake, Minn.

In 1907 the family moved to Greenwood, Clark County, where she passed away on June 18, 1933, having spent the first twenty-five years of married life in Darlington and the latter twenty-five in Greenwood.

She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband, a daughter and son, one brother, Orival N. Benedict, Darlington, Wis., seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

On Nov. 16, 1932, Mr. and Mrs. Poole celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Nelson, Darlington, Wis.

Mrs. Poole was a faithful and devoted Christian, taking an active part in all church affairs and it can truly be said that a good Christian mother has been called home to her reward.

Funeral services were held at the local M. E. Church Monday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock, Rev. R. H. Maddock officiating. On Tuesday the body was taken to Darlington for burial.
