MRS. ANNA TOBUREN

Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 8, at Immanuel United church of Christ, Greenwood, for Mrs. Anna (Schmidt) Toburen, 92, a former Greenwood, Clark County resident, who has resided at the Neillsville Memorial Home for the past three years.

Rev. Larry Davis officiated at the service and burial was made in the West Side Cemetery. Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood, was in charge of arrangements.

Anna Toburen was born to Louis and Sophia Schmidt at Waunandee, Wis., on April 4, 1885. She received her education at Cream Area Schools at Cream, Wisconsin.

She was married to William Toburen on June 3, 1908, at Alma. They lived in Wausau one year after their marriage and in 1909 moved to a farm northwest of Greenwood in the Town of Mead, where they farmed until 1945. They then moved to the City of Greenwood. After her husband's death in 1953, she moved to Minneapolis, where she lived for about 20 years before returning to Greenwood.

She was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ and it's Ladies Aid.

Surviving her are two sons, Erwin and Delmar, both of Greenwood two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Robbins of Shorewood, Minn., and Mrs. John (Dolores) Goger of Chicago eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William her parents three brothers three sisters one half brother and two great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers were Norman Liebzeit, Arvin Liebzeit, Elmer Kuester, Jerald Richmond, Herbert Horn and LeRoy Fravert.
