PUTZEL FUNERAL


GREENWOOD--Services were held at 9:30 a.m. today at the Hill Funeral Home here, and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church for John Frank Putzel, Greenwood, Clark County, who died Friday Dec. 17, 1971.


The Rev. Jerome Hoeser, Wausau, a grandson, officiated and burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.


Pallbearers were Frank Artac, Walter Hribar, Ludwig Hribar, Ignatz Sladish, Charles Herrick and George Fitzl.


Mr. Putzel was born Dec. 10, 1881, in Austria, and came to the United States in 1905 and settled in Helena, Mont. He was married there Jan. 29, 1908 to Fanny Boyce, who survives him. The couple came to Greenwood from Montana in February, 1914, and had since resided on a farm west of here.


Survivors, in addition to his wife, are four daughters, Mrs. Earl (Bertha) Holt, Greenwood Mrs. Frank (Eleanor) Russ, East Helena, Mont. Mrs. Joseph (Frieda) Hoeser, Loyal and Mrs. Eugene (Lucee) Ianka, Fenton, Mo. a son, L. Earle Putzel, Fort Worth, Texas 19 grandchildren 12 great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Mary Rigler, East Helena, Mont.


He was preceded in death by a brother.
