OBITUARY OF MRS. GEO. A. POTTS

Mrs. Geo A. Potts was born in the state of Pennsylvania, Dec. 23, 1851. In 1856 she, with her parents, moved to Iowa, traveling overland and settling near what is now Traer, Toma Co. A few years later they moved to Toma in the southern part of Toma Co., where she grew to womanhood amid the early pioneer surroundings.

She was united in marriage Nov. 23, 1876 to Geo. A. Potts, and to this union three boys were born, George of Belmond, Ia, Burdett of Burbank, Cal., Floyd of Greenwood, Wis., and one daughter who passed on before at 2 years of age.

They continued their residence in Tomah until last spring when they moved to Greenwood, Clark County, Wis.

Mrs. Potts was for many years a member and faithful worker in the Methodist Church in Iowa, and always had the best interests of the community, as well as her family at heart. After coming to Wisconsin she transferred her church membership to the Methodist Church in Christie.

On Nov. 17th she suffered a severe attack of Asthma which later developed into pneumonia and being too weak to successfully combat that attack, she passed away Thanksgiving morning at four o'clock.

She leaves a loving husband, the three sons, one brother, Geo. Randolph of Long Beach, Cal., four sisters, Mrs. Fred Reed of Riletto, Ariz., Mrs. R.L. Gallagehn of Pasadena, Cal., Mrs. Frank Dupre and Mrs. J. V. Small of Spokane, Wash., and nine grandchildren.

Her husband and two sons, Geo. And Floyd, with his wife, were at her side when she died, Burdett being unable to come in time.

Funeral services were conducted from the home at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Rev. E.M. Bickell of Greenwood officiating. The remains were taken on the 11:29 train from Neillsville. Interment will be in the family lot of the Cemetery at Toma, Iowa.

And so passes another useful life. A loving wife and devoted mother has gone to her reward and those left to mourn her loss find comfort only in knowing that she has rest from the toil and pain of this world.
