ORIE T. OSBURN (1878 - 1954)


Orie T. Orsburn, 76, route 2, Greenwood, Clark County, died in the Neillsville Hospital at 11:35 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, 1954. He had been a patient there since he suffered a stroke on the preceding Sunday morning.


Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Grace Methodist Church, Greenwood, with the Rev. Arthur Riley officiating and burial will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ed Kippenhan, Theodore Kippenhan, Walter Buker, Ervin Buker, Dan Deegan, and William Schlingsog.


The body will repose at the Hill Funeral Home from this evening until time of services.


Mr. Orsburn was born, March 1, 1878, at Bloom City, where he received his education and was married to Rachel Ferguson on July 3, 1897. They lived at Bloom City until 50 years ago, when they came to this area and lived on several farms. Mrs. Orsburn died in 1929.


Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. John (Elsie) Kuehn, Mashfield Mrs. Irving (Eldora) Dow, and Mrs. Lester (Dolly) Wetzel, Greenwood Mrs. John (Belah) Ormond, Neillsville Mrs. Delbert (Rosezen) Swanson, Otawa, Ill., and Mrs. Fred (Dorothy) Morganflash, Marseilles, Ill. three sons, Bud and Edward, Greenwood, and Theodore, Marseilles, Ill. 39 grandchildren 16 great-grandchildren one brother, Ed, Bloom City and two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Mithcel, Richland Center, and Mrs. Maude Hicks, Illinois.
