LONG TIME RESIDENT, ADDIE PRIOR SUCCUMBS AT EIGHTY-NINE


Addie L. Prior, age 89, Loyal, Clark County, died at 1:45 p.m. Friday, Sept 10, 1976, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. There was a committal service at 10 a.m. Monday, followed by a 10:30 memorial service at the United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Eugene Carlson officiating. Burial was in the Loyal Cemetery. Rinka Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.


Addie L. Colby was born on Feb. 8, 1887 to Ora and Emma Colby at Nunda, Ill. She received her education in Crystal Lake, Ill. She married Ray Prior at Crystal Lake, Ill. on June 5, 1907. After her marriage they moved to Loyal, and lived here until 1913, when they moved to Wauconda, Ill. They returned to Loyal in 1926 and have lived the past 50 years here. They celebrated their Golden Wedding in 1957 and 60th in 1967.
She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.


She is survived by her husband, Ray, two sons, Calvin, Greenwood Norman, Marshfield two daughters, Mrs. Edward (Ora Lee) Geise, Rice Lake, Wis. Mrs. Raymond (Muriel) Ewert, Crystal Lake, Ill. 16 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and four greatgreat-grandchildren One son, Robert, four brothers, two sisters and one granddaughter preceded her in death.


Music for the funeral was provided for by Julie Feldt, organist and Connie Smith, vocalist. They sang and played Beyond the Sunset and What a Friend We Have in Jesus . Pallbearers were Celan Gotter, Ron Gluch, Everett Gehrt, Byron Zepplin, Jesse Raab, and Dale Kauffman.
