Gregory A. Nemetz (1948 - 1999)


Gregory A. Nemetz, 50, of Medford, was pronounced dead on Sunday, June 6, at his residence. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 11, at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford with Rev. Warren Behling officiating.


Cremainal interment will be held in Medford Evergreen Cemetery II.


Visitation at the funeral home will be from 1:30 p.m. until time of services on Friday.


Gregory A. Nemetz was born November 30, 1948, in San Francisco, Calif., to Arthur and Verna M. (Frischmann) Nemetz. He was a graduate of Centennial High School and then attended Community College, both in Anoka, Minn. He was previously married and later divorced.


A US Army veteran, he served during the Vietnam War from 1968 - 1970 and received a Purple Heart. After his military service, he attended college for a number of years. He then worked as an assistant art teacher at Anoka Community College for a period of time. In 1984, he moved to Medford and had resided here until the time of his death.


Survivors include his father, Arthur Nemetz of San Francisco, and two brothers, Ken Nemetz of North St. Paul, Minn., and Ron Kovalaske of Dorchester, Clark County, WI.


He was preceded in death by his mother.
