OBITUARY OF CARL KLEINSCHMIDT


Carl Kleinschmidt was born in Neu Stettin, Germany, May 17, 1855 and passed away at the home of his sister, Mrs. H.F. Stabnow, Tuesday afternoon, March 31, 1931.


He came to America with his parents when fourteen years of age. They settled on a farm at Sauk City, where he lived until the fall of 1898, when he came to Greenwood. He owned and operated a farm in the Town of Beaver for several years.


In 1903 he bought a farm in the City of Greenwood, Clark County, from which he retired in 1915.


Funeral services were held from the local Reformed Church Saturday afternoon, April 4th, Rev. E.G. Pfeiffer officiating, and the body laid to rest in the Greenwood Cemetery.


He is survived by one sister, Mrs. H.F. Stabnow two nieces, Mrs. E. T. Opdycke, Mrs. John Meng three nephews, Walter, Harold and Carl Stabnow, all of this city.
