LEE A. JOLIVETTE


GREENWOOD--Lee A. Jolivette, 78, of 106 W. Miller St., Greenwood, Clark County, was found dead at his home around 8:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, 1975 by his son, Dale. Death was attributed to an apparent heart attack.


Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Rinka Funeral Home in Greenwood. The Rev. David Logue, pastor of Zion United Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery.


Visitations may be made after 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home where a Masonic service will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday.


Born July 7, 1897, and educated at La Crosse, Mr. Jolivette worked for Northern States Power Company as a line foreman for 40 years, retiring in 1962. He served on the Greenwood School Board for a number of years and also served on the Clark County Fair Board. He was known throughout the county and at the fair for his jewelry and rock collection.


A veteran of World War I, he was a member of the Greenwood Masonic Lodge 249 and was past master Mason.


Mr. Jolivette married Florence Ackerman on Nov. 18, 1936 at Waukegan, Ill. She survives.


Other survivors include two sons, Dale, Greenwood, and the Rev. Norbert Jolivette, Jewell, Iowa a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Elaine) Schwan, Route 1, Loyal four brothers, Gerald, Route 2, Greenwood, Harris, Route 3, Greenwood, and Robert and Raymond, both of Pine Bush, N.Y. two sisters, Mrs. Lester (Stella) Frank and Mrs. Esther Dusso, both of Greenwood, and 15 grandchildren.


Preceding him in death were a brother and a stepson.

Funeral services were held last Wednesday from the Rinka Funeral Home in Greenwood for Lee A. Jolivette, 78, Greenwood, who was found dead at his home the previous Sunday morning (Oct. 5?) by his son, Dale. Death was attributed to an apparent heart attack.

The Rev. David Logue, pastor of Zion United Church of Christ, officiate, and burial followed in the Greenwood Cemetery. Masonic services were held Tuesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers, all members of his crew when he worked for the Northern States Power Company, were Robert Cattanach, Leland Smiley, Neil Green, Robert Engelbretson, Carl Marks and Harold Parker.

Guy Schultz sang “A Closer Walk with Thee.” Mrs. Schultz accompanied him on the organ.
