JONAS HEMBRE DEAD.

Jonas Hembre departed this mortal life at four o'clock Saturday morning, Sept. 16, at he home of his daughter, Mrs. Hans Ystad, in the town of Beaver. The cause of his death is assigned to cancer of the stomach from which he had been falling for several months. He was confined to the bed, however, for only four weeks.

Mr. Hembre was born in Trondhjem, Norway, Dec. 1, 1832, making him at this death nearly seventy-three years of age. He was married at Jnderoen, Norway, in 1837, and from the union were born six children, one dying in infancy. Those living are Iver, Edward and Ralph, Mrs. Ole Bragstad and Mrs. Hans Ystad. All but Edward and Ralph live near by, the latter two being away.

Mr. Hembre first came to this country in 1883, remaining here two years, his wife remaining in the old country until his second coming to America in 1885. In 1896, Mrs. Hembre died.

The funeral was held from the school house in the Larson district Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock, Rev. W. T. Hendren officiating. The remains were laid to rest beside those of his wife in the beautiful Greenwood cemetery.
