LEROY FRAVERT SR. (1922-1999)


Leroy D. Fravert Sr., 76, Greenwood, Clark County, died on Saturday, Jan. 2, 1999, at Memorial Nursing Home, Neillsville. Visitation will be one hour before services. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 9, at Immanuel United Church of Christ, Greenwood. The Rev. Michael Kennedy will officiate.


Leroy D. Fravert was born on March 30, 1922, to Otto and Alma (Nee Franz) Fravert. He served three years in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He married Bernice Schwarze on June 10, 1948, and farmed west of Greenwood. He was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ and was on the cemetery board for 40 years. He also served on the Greenwood School Board and the F M Bank Board of Directors.


Survivors include his wife, Bernice two sons, James (Mary) Fravert, Milwaukee, and LeRoy (Linda) Fravert Jr., Loyal six daughters, Jane (Thomas) Gerber, Rice Lake, Charlene (Richard) Stevens, Black River Falls, Better Peer, GreenBay, Vicki (Gary) Pratt, Hartland, Kathryn (Dennis) Olinski, Appleton, and Ruth Fravert, Madison 11 grandchildren and one brother, Allen, Plainview, Minn.


He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Orlin.


In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been designated in his name.
