WILLIAM AWE


Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at West Side Evangelical and Reformed Church, Greenwood, Clark County, for William Awe, 70, Route 1, Owen, who died Tuesday night at Memorial Hospital, Neillsville.


The Rev. Charles Koch will officiate and burial will take place in the church cemetery. The body now is lying in state here at the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home.


Mr. Awe, who was born in the town of Green Grove June 19, 1887, had farmed there all his life. He was married Dec. 13, 1923, to Louise Voightlander, who survives him.


Other survivors are two sons, Calvin, Milwaukee, and Arnold at home one brother, Arthur, Owen and four sisters, Lydia, Owen, Mrs. Emma Burmeister, Withee, Mrs. Ted (Martha) Kippenhan, Owen, and Mrs. Henry (Elizabeth) Voightlander, Curtiss.

Section 31 of Green Grove Township along what is now Owen Avenue. 

Today (2004), this farm is owned by Rick and Sue Eloranta.
