ISABELLE L. WATERBURY

Mrs. Isabelle L. Waterbury, wife of A. F. Waterbury, of the Town of Loyal, Clark County, departed this life in the city of La Crosse, Dec. 20th, 1890.

Her body was embalmed, and reached the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Nichol, thirteen miles north of Neillsville, on the day of her death.

She went to La Crosse for medical aid last April, and for the last three months her husband has been with her in most loving and faithful attendance. Her most painful affliction was caused by a needle that entered the lower part of her body about nine years ago. The surgical operations, by which the needle was at last removed, came too late.

Having been born in London Township, Ontario, Canada, she came to Clark County, Wis. in 1872, and was married by her pastor, W. T. Hendren, May 19th, 1886.

In early life she became a communicant in the Presbyterian Church of Neillsville, and to the very last her quiet and unobtrusive piety was worthy of special mention. None knew her except to love her. Patiently did many wait for her return to her quiet home four miles from the village of Loyal, and sad was many a heart when it was at last announced that this fond hope should never be realized.

Her funeral took place on Tuesday of this week from the M. E. Church at Greenwood, Rev. W. T. Hendren, of Neillsville, officiating.
She is gone, but she shall not be forgotten. She is gone, but she has gone to a better land to await the coming of those who now mourn her loss. Our loss is her eternal gain.
