Hommel, Lulu (22 Feb 1878 - 14 Feb 1915)

Miss Lulu Hommel was born in Neillsville on Feb. 22, 1878 to Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Hommel. She was educated in the city schools and later was employed for a time as a telephone operator. For a number of years she was employed as a bookkeeper by the Wisconsin Furniture Co., and eleven years ago went to St. Paul where she took a position as a saleslady. She was employed in this capacity for a number of years, but lately had been employed in a real estate office. On Thursday of last week she was taken sick with pneumonia and went to a hospital, where she passed away early Sunday morning. Her father, J.W. Hommel, was called to St. Paul and was with her at the time of her death.

Miss Hommel was a young lady of bright and cheery disposition and many winning characteristics. She was intellectual and ambitious and the friends she made in early girlhood were maintained throughout her life by her kindly and pleasing disposition. The funeral was held in Neillsville at the home of the sister of the deceased, Mrs. V.C. Woelffer, Tuesday afternoon, services being conducted by Rev. Colman. Miss Hommel is survived by her father Lieut. Col. Hommel and sister, Mrs. Woelffer.

Mrs. Williams of Camp Douglass was here for the funeral.
