Mielke, Edward E. R. (6 FEB 1920 - 1 NOV 2012)

Edward E. Mielke Sr., age 92, of Abbotsford passed away Thursday, November 1, 2012 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 5, 2012 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran (high steeple) Church, Edgar. Rev. Jeffrey A. Lambrecht will officiate. The visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until the time of services at the church in Edgar. Burial will follow the service at Abbotsford Public Cemetery and serving as pallbearers will be Daniel Mielke, Albert Wolf, Donald Kunkel, Richard Mielke, John Totzke, Aaron Totzke, Carl Totzke, and Gerry Ebben.

Edward was born on February 6, 1920 in Edgar to the late Ludwig and Anna (Drachenberg) Mielke. Ludwig passed away December 20, 1921 and on January 3, 1925 Anna married Edward Witzke.

Edward was joined in marriage to Laura Hartl on May 25, 1946. Edward and Laura farmed in the Township of Frankfort until their retirement and then moved to Abbotsford.

Edward is survived by his wife, Laura, two children: Edward (Jill) Mielke Jr of Fenwood and Delores Telschow of Edgar; five grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. He is further survived by a sister-in-law, Leta (Leonard) Ebben.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Dennis Telschow, and his siblings: Theresa Kunkel, Otto Mielke, Hulda Wolf, Ida Nichols, Leopold Mielke, Carl Mielke, Anna Bessler, and Hugo Mielke
