Hedemark, Frank (12 Nov 1909-11 Oct 2012)

Frank A. Hedemark, 102, Neillsville, died peacefully on Thursday, Oct.11, 2012, at the Clark County Health Center, Owen. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Oct. 20, at Cuddie Funeral Home, Greenwood. Rev. Steven Wentz will officiate. Burial will take place at Holy Family Cemetery, Willard, at a later date. Visitation will be held at Cuddie Funeral Home, Greenwood, on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Farnk August Hedemark was born in Chicago, Ill., on Nov. 12, 1909, to Henry and Hannah (nee Bender) Hedemark. He attended schools in Chicago, graduating from Crane Technical High School and Junior College in 1927. He worked in Chicago for Stewart-Warner Co. for 19 years. Frank married Olga Hribar on Sept. 22, 1934. in Chicago. In 1945, they moved to Greenwood and farmed for two years before returning to Chicago. Frank became employed by Standard Coil Products in 1947. In 1956 he was given the opportunity to relocate to Toronto, Canada, to help open and work as a salesman for another Standard Coil plant. He worked in Canada for 17 years before retiring in 1972. After retirement, the Hedemarks relocated to Rock Dam, where they lived until 1988 at which time they moved to Neillsville. After the death of his beloved wife, Olga, in 2007, Frank continued to live in Neillsville until June of this year. He was very active throughout his life. He played golf and hunted into his 90’s. He was also a bowler and square dancer while living in Canada. He enjoyed doing daily crossword puzzles and was as avid reader. He was a devoted husband and true gentleman. He also had a very good sense of humor and was an extremely positive person. Though never having children of his own, he was “Uncle Frank” to many nieces and nephews, including a great- great- great niece. He was active in the lives of his family and greatly loved by all. He was a member of the Living Hope Evangelical Free Church of Neillsville.

Frank is survived by his brothers-in-law; Walter Hribar and William (Mary) Hribar; nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Olga, on Jan. 3, 2007; his parents; one brother, Charles Hedemark; and two sisters, Grace West and Alice Klein.
