Following her graduation from the Professional Art School in Chicago, Saturday, Barbara Joan Wepfer, Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Allen Lewis Quast of route 3, Whitewater. The ceremony took place at noon at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church at Whitewater before an altar decorated with white glads and yellow pompons. Rev. James Johnson performed the double ring services while the church choir sang the Nuptial Mass. Organist was Mrs. Francis Walson. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Quast of West Allis.
As the bride approached the altar on the arm of her father, she was beautifully attired in a traditional gown of ivory dulcette satin fashioned with a gently scooped neckline and long tapered sleeves. The bodice and front panel of the skirt were enhanced by see pearl embroidery in a rose design, unpressed pleats expanded the skirt into a chapel train. A matching pillbox of tucked satin was also brightened with seed pearls and a miniature rose above her tiered ballerina veil of silk illusion. She carried a cascade of white roses and stephanotis with green ivy.
Judy Wichman of Eau Claire was maid of honor and bridesmaid was Mrs. Glen Sisson, a sister of the groom from West Allis. They were seen in identical sapphire blue ballerina length gowns of peau de soie featuring scoop necklines, cap sleeves and full flared skirts with cummerbunds at the waistline trimmed with roses and styled with a bustle back. Matching pillboxes of tucked peau de soie completed their ensemble. They held cascade arrangements of yellow roses and white pompoms with green ivy.
Linda Sisson, niece of the groom, of West Allis, who was the flower girl, was also dressed in a sapphire blue peau de soie frock and carried a basket of yellow roses and white pompoms.
The bride’s mother was wearing a raspberry sheath and wine and white accessories and a navy blue dress with navy and white accessories was worn by the groom’s mother. Each was presented with a corsage of white roses and pompoms.
Thomas Wepfer of Loyal, the bride’s brother, was best man at the wedding, and groomsman was Glen Sisson of West Allis, a brother-in-law of the groom. Seating the guests were Robert Quast, the groom’s cousin from Sparta, and Gerald Passer of Milton Junction.
The newlyweds greeted their friends at a dinner and reception at St. Patrick’s Hall. Later they left for a honeymoon trip to Florida.
The new Mrs. Quast is a graduate of Loyal High School, studied at the University of Wisconsin at Madison and is a graduate of Ray Vogue School of Professional Arts at Chicago. Her husband was graduated from Greenwood High School ad is employed at Hawthorn Melody Dairy in Whitewater. When they return from their trip, the couple will reside on route 3, Whitewater.
