Marg Family (Reunion - 2 July 1967)

A Marg reunion was held July 2, at North Wood county Park, near Marshfield. The eight children of the late August and Bertha Marg and their families were present. They include Louis Marg and William Marg of Watertown; Mrs. Herbert Bardeleben, Albert Marg, Fred Marg, Frank Marg and Edward Marg of Neillsville; and Mrs. Victor Rhodes of Marshfield.

A program proceeded the potluck dinner. An August and Bertha Marg family tree was prepared and presented to every member of the family.

Awards were presented to the following: the oldest, Louis Marg; the youngest, Eric John Rhodes, four-week-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Rhodes of Marshfield; largest family, Frank Marg; and coming the longest distance, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Houlihan and family of Sioux City, Ia.

Mr. Herbert Bardeleben was presented with a corsage in honor of her approaching 45th wedding anniversary.

Members of this year’s reunion committee were as follows: Mr. and Mrs. Roger Marg, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Rhodes, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Witt and Mr. and Mrs. Elroy Paasch. Wives of the committee members were presented with corsages made by Mrs. Victor Rhodes.

The afternoon was spent playing games and visiting.

The following were present for the reunion, the first in 10 years: Mr. and Mrs. Louis Marg, Mr. and Mrs. William Marg, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Rome, Mr. and Mrs. LaVerne Marg and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Uttech and family, all of Watertown; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mark, Mr. and Mrs. Verlon Marg and family, all of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Marg and family of Waukesha; Mr. and Mrs. Orville Froh and Debra of Muscoda; Mr. and Mrs. David Froh and daughters of Richland Center; Mr. and Mrs. James Cummings and family, Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Marg and family, all of Alma Center; Mr. and Mrs. Dean Houlihan and family, Sioux City, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs. Art Bardeleben and Alan of Beloit; Mr. and Mrs. LaVerne Zschernitz and family of Stanley; Mr. and Mrs. Roger Helm and daughters of Granton.
