Ogurek, Stanley (18 MAR 1892 - 20 JUL 1960)

 

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, July 23rd at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Polish National Catholic Church at Lublin for Stanley Joseph Ogurek, 68, who passed away suddenly of a heart attack on Wednesday, July 20th, 1960.

 

The Rev. Father M. Wachna officiated and burial was in the Polish Cemetery.

 

Stanley Ogurek was born in Chicago, Ill. on March 18th, 1892.  He came to Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) with his parents, brothers and sisters on April 9th, 1903.  They settled on a farm near "Whipple Dam," Town of Roosevelt, Taylor Co. 

 

For many years he worked in a lumber mill of his uncle A.J. Ogurek (deceased) at Lublin, and also for J.E. Gruszczynski and son in their mill at Bellinger, Wis.

 

Later he helped his parents on the farm on Highway 73.  After his parents died, eh remained on the farm and made his home till death with his youngest brother, Mayland.

 

He was not married.  He was active in affairs of the town and county.

 

He was preceded in death by one sister, Cecelia Constance, in 1930, and his parents, Andrew and Mary Ann Ogurek in 1932, and 1939, respectively.

 

Survivors include 3 brothers and 4 sisters, Mayland, Alois (Al) and John W. of Thorp, Barbara L. Ogurek, Mrs. Elias Lemanski (Leona), both of Milwaukee, Wis., Mrs. W.C. Stroinski (Walley), Mrs. G.E. Kazmierski (Mabel), both of Thorp, Wis.

 

Pallbearers were Joe Pawlicki, Albert Skalecki, Walter Szymoniak, Walter Ruda, Eugene Zakrzewicz, and Stanley Kaszubowski.

 

Attending the funeral from out of town were Barbara L. Ogurek, Milwaukee, Wis., Mr. and and Mrs. Clemence Ogurek and children, Roselle, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Jack Marczuk, Big Falls, Wis., Jean Ogurek, Deerfield, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Victor Skalecki, Longwood, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Elias Lemanski and daughter of Milwaukee, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Lemanski and son, Madison, Wis.
