Bleecker, William Edward (23 August 1932 - 1 April 2012)

 

William E. Bleecker, 79, of Neillsville, died Sunday, April 1, 2012, at the Neillsville Care and Rehabilitation Center.

 

William Edward Bleecker was born Aug. 23, 1932, in Richwood, the son of William and Doris (Marquardt) Bleecker.  He was raised and received his education in Lake Mills.  Bill was united in marriage Oct. 25, 1954, to Mary Virginia Edwards.  He worked 25 years for Stritzel’s Roofing in Whitewater.  They moved to Neillsville in the late 1970’s, where they owned and operated the Moonlite Inn for five years.  He and his wife divorced in 1987.  Bill then worked as a carpenter for Christianson & Sons, Lunda in Black River Falls, and Bolt Construction in Wausau. He also started his own business, Bleecker Roofing, which he operated for several years. Bill was united in Marriage to Alice King, Feb. 25, 1996 in Neillsville. He entered the Neillsville Care and Rehabilitation Center in 2008, where he resided until his death. 

 

Bill was a loving husband, devoted father and a good, hard-working man.  He had many interests; but especially loved family get-togethers, hunting, camping, fishing, playing cards, cribbage and getting together with his friends every morning for coffee.

 

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Alice, of Neillsville; his children, William (Leanne) Bleecker of Redgranite, Teresa (Todd) Brandt of Aniwa, Timothy (Shelley) Bleecker of Neillsville; his stepson, Roger (Carmen) King of Neillsville; 13 grandchildren, Melissa, Nicolette, Randy, Meghan, Nikki, Dakota, Billie-Jo, Robert, Crystal, Catherine, Austin, Brandon and Devon; numerous great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Joy) Bleecker of Lake Mills; one sister, Sally; four sisters-in-law, Evelyn Bleecker of Jefferson, Sylvia Bleecker of Waterford, Doris Karow of Waterloo and Alda (James) Noah of Loyal; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Gerald; one grandson, Jimmy Lee; three brothers, Allen, George and Kenneth Bleecker; and four sisters, May Laessler, Marian Schroeder, Stella Krueger and Joanne Fraizer

 

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 5, at Cuddie Funeral Home in Greenwood. Rev. Rob Love will officiate and burial will follow in the Greenwood City Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Cuddie Funeral Home Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
