Leland Everet Ehlert was born October 2, 1920 to Albert and Bernice (Thwing) Ehlert in the Town of Beaver, WI. He received his education at Latart Grade School. After grade school he worked as a hired-man on a farm. He was drafted in Aug. 1942 in the U.S. Army Coastal Artillery of WWII and was released on November 4, 1945 (on his mother's birthday).

He then bought a farm near Curtiss, WI and farmed until he developed "Farmer's Lung" and was forced to quit. Lee worked for a few plants until he bought a home in Marshfield and worked in the laundry room at St. Joseph's Hospital until his retirement. He then sold his Marshfield home and bought a home in Abbotsford where he took his parents with him to live. He sold that home and on Nov 20, 2008 he went to Pine Ridge Assisted Living, Colby.

Lee is survived by his brother, Clyde (Rosina) Ehlert of West Bend, WI, five nieces, and four nephews.

Lee is preceded in death by his parents, his sister: Genevieve (Fred) Smith, and brother and sister at birth, Dale Ehlert and Mary Jane Ehlert.

The Maurina Schilling Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
