Svetlik, Kathleen A. (Marriage - 27 December 1965)

 

Red poinsettias covered the altar of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville for the nuptial mass Monday at 4:30 p.m. uniting in marriage Miss Kathleen A. Svetlik, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony C. Svetlik, and Timothy A. Grether, son of the Rev. and Mrs. Jacob W. Grether; all are of Neillsville.  The Rev. Fr. Bernard T. Kelly officiated at the double ring ceremony.

 

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor length gown of lustrous rose patterned brocade, fashioned with long tapered sleeves and a modified scoop neckline. The Empire waist was traced with a delicate pearl fringe.  Highlighting the A-line skirt was a detachable train sweeping into a chapel train. A rose with self petals held her bouffant veil of sheer illusion.  She carried a bouquet of red and white carnations decorated with holly.

 

Miss Barbara M. Svetlik was maid-of-honor.  Bridesmaid was Miss Joann Grether. They wore floor length red velvet sheaths and carried white fur muffs decorated with red carnations. Their headpieces were white fur pillbox hats.

 

David Grether was bestman. Darrell Tompkins served as groomsman. Ushers were David Svetlik and Jeff Gall.

 

The wedding reception was held in the United Church of Christ parlors.

 

The bride a 1964 graduate of Neillsville High School, I presently engaged as a histologist in the laboratory at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.  She will complete her training at the end of January and will then be employed in the Marshfield hospital.  Mr. Grether, also a 1964 graduate of Neillsville High School, is a sophomore at Wood County Extension Center in Marshfield.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Grether are residing at 1012 A South Cherry Ave. Marshfield.

 

Guests from out of town attending were Mr. and Mrs. George Yakish and family of Winona, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Milt Lohr of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. James Marx of Eau Claire; Dr. and Mrs. R. H. Ziehr and family of Augusta; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Svetlik and family of New Holstein; Mr. and Mrs. David Grether and family of St. Cloud, Minn.
