Ziegler, Edward A. (10 August 1883 - 24 November 1965)

 

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon for Edward A. Ziegler, 82, of Rt. 1 Willard, who died November 24, in Neillsville.  The Rev. David Witte officiated at the service held from the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Globe.  Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

 

Mr. Ziegler was born August 10, 1883, in the Town of Grant, attended local schools and was confirmed in St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in 1897, by the late Rev. Thrun.  He was married in the same church to the former Ida Ratsch by the late Rev. Herman Brandt on March 16, 1910.

 

He worked in logging camps and also was engaged in farming.  He started farming on 40 acres of wild land, building his own buildings.

 

Mr. Ziegler served as supervisor for the town of Seif for seven years.  He laid the plans for the road known as the Ziegler Road in the Town of Seif.

 

He is survived by his wife; and the following five children, Arthur of Marion, Mrs. Robert (Erna) Seif of rural Neillsville, Marvin of Willard, Mrs. Forest (Doris) Klueckmann of Fall Creek, and Louis of Willard.  Other survivors are three brothers, Theodore of Neillsville, Adolph of Milwaukee, and George of Wausau; 20 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

 

"Jesus Christ, My Sure Defense," and "Just as I Am" were sung by the choir of Immanuel Lutheran Church, accompanied by Mrs. Clarence Wagner.

 

Pallbearers were: Wendell, DeWayne, Dwight and Ronald Ziegler, Larry and Maynard Klueckmann.

 

Those from away attending were: Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Ziegler and son of Marion; Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Mathwick and sons, George Ziegler of Wausau; Mr. and Mrs. Jim Metzke of Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. Forest Klueckmann and Penny Bain of Fall Creek; Edwin Klueckmann, Mrs. Erwin Clark, Harold Ziegler and Tena Hanchman of Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Ziegler of Milwaukee; Barbara and Dennis Klueckmann of Fall Creek; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Scharf and Mrs. Emma Scharf of Granton; Mrs. Amy Garbisch and Robert Garbisch of Wausau; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Pus of Elk Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Herb Green of Humbird; and Mr. and Mrs. R. Ziegler of Stratford.
