Healy, Ameria (29 June 1959)

Word has been received of the marriage of Master Sgt. Charles B. Marquardt and Miss America Healy on June 29th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bangor, Maine.

Master Sgt. Marquardt is the son of Mrs. Agnes Marquardt of Tomah, Wis., who formerly lived on route 1, Loyal.  The former Miss Healy is from Cork, Ireland.

The groom graduated from Loyal High School with the class of 1944 and has become a career man in the U.S. Air Force  with fourteen years of service.  He served on Okinawa and at various bases in the United States, where, for several years he has been an instructor in the operation of jet engines.  His last tour of duty was a flight engineer in the Weather Reconnaissance Squadron at Kindley Air Force Base in Bermuda.  Their duty is to track down hurricanes and issue warnings of the approaching storms to cities along the southeastern coast of the United States.

It was while Master Sgt. Marquardt was with the Hurricane Hunters and stationed in Bermuda that he met his bride.  She was employed as a secretary at the base.

The newlyweds are now living in Bangor, Maine where the groom is stationed at Dow Air Force Base.
